JEBSS welcomes reviewer applications from active researchers whose expertise fits the journal’s subject areas and methods. Registration does not guarantee an invitation; editors match each manuscript to the most suitable available experts.

Eligibility

  • A completed doctorate or equivalent research expertise relevant to the proposed review fields. Advanced doctoral researchers may be considered when their expertise is directly relevant and appropriate supervision or editorial safeguards are available.
  • Recent peer-reviewed research, professional legal scholarship or recognised methodological expertise.
  • Ability to review in clear academic English and return reports within the agreed period.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, conflict disclosure, respectful criticism and publication ethics.
  • A verifiable institutional profile, ORCID record or publication history.

Selection and service

The editorial office verifies applications and may request a CV or sample publication. Review quality, timeliness, communication and ethical conduct are monitored. A reviewer may decline any invitation, update expertise at any time or ask to be removed from the database. Repeatedly poor, copied, abusive, undisclosed AI-generated or conflicted reports may end reviewer service.

How to apply

Send the information listed above to [email protected] with the subject “JEBSS reviewer application — surname / field”.

What happens after application

  1. The editorial office verifies identity, affiliation, publication record and stated expertise.
  2. Suitable profiles are added to the reviewer database with focused subject and method keywords.
  3. An editor may invite the applicant when a manuscript closely matches that expertise.
  4. The reviewer remains free to accept or decline each invitation after checking time and conflicts.

Recognition and privacy

JEBSS may provide an annual acknowledgement or confirmation of completed reviews without revealing manuscript details. Reviewer-profile information is used only for legitimate journal operations and can be corrected or removed on request, subject to retention needed for research-integrity records.
